On the 14th of December, Mall of the South hosted a heartwarming 'Shop My Closet' event in partnership with Home of Hope for Girls and the SOJO Helping Hands Foundation.

The initiative was aimed at creating a memorable day for the amazing girls from Home of Hope for Girls by offering them a unique shopping experience.

A vacant shop was transformed into a vibrant, welcoming space, specially designed for the event offering the girls a selection of previously loved clothing and shoes donated by the generous Mall of the South community through their donation box at the mall’s Lower-Level Entrance 2. Each participant eagerly selected outfits, thrilled to find clothing suitable for upcoming school presentations and even their first year at university.

In addition to clothing, Mall of the South donated care packs to the girls, further enhancing the event’s impact. Special thanks go to Charica Cowie from Dis-Chem, who generously contributed toothbrushes and toothpaste to the care packs

This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the kind-hearted contributions from the local community. Every item collected was donated directly to Home of Hope for Girls, ensuring that the young women have access to essential clothing items as they step confidently into new chapters of their lives.

The collaboration with SOJO Helping Hands Foundation reflects Mall of the South’s ongoing commitment to community upliftment and social responsibility. The soon-to-open SOJO Charity Shop will continue to play a pivotal role in aiding those in need, with proceeds supporting various charitable initiatives.
